FIXTURE MONITORING SYSTEM

The system comprises of pressure and load cell wireless transmitters embedded into the hydraulic fixture and a receiver unit mounted on the machine tool outside the cutting area When in operation, each transmitter sends the following data to the receiver unit every second.

Parameter value, battery status, fixture number and transmitter serial number value, battery status, fixture number and transmitter serial number are all transmitted automatically. If there is a loss or change of fixture pressure or load, the receiver can trigger an automatically controlled shutdown of the machine tool through the machine’s PLC control system. 

The FMS incorporates relay alarm contacts which may be used by the machine tool to stop the cutting cycle in a controlled way. A serial data link allows the machine /PLC to tell the FMS which fixture number is being monitored and read actual pressure values and alarm levels, but this has yet to be implemented. ThePanel PC allows the operator to see the status of the fixture beingmonitored as well as being able to select a fixture to monitor manually

  • Powered by 2.4GHz IEEE 802.15.4 wireless transceivers. 
  • Fixtures are fitted with high integrity wireless transmitters with either potted or IP69K connections.
  • Monitoring parameters for up to (31 for the 6800 – 512 for the new smooth control) different fixtures can be programmed into each FMS receiver.
  • Up to 10 wireless hydraulic circuits can be monitored per fixture.
  • Hydraulic pressures of up to 700 bar can be monitored.
  • Low power wireless modules and variable transmission rates are used to extend the transmitter battery life.
  • Each hydraulic circuit transmitter is programmed with a unique serial and fixture number.
  • There are alarm relay outputs for pressure loss or low pressure, link failure and low battery.


AIR GAP PACKAGE

This package is a pneumatic, high precision set-up for part seat confirmation that checks the adhesion between the part and the fixture, preventing machining defects and downtime.

AIR BLOW PACKAGE

Between part reloads, the part seat and part datums become compromised with dust and debris. Automatically or manually utilizes compressed air to clean your application before each reload.
