AWM Is Going Solar!

All World Machinery is going 100% solar!

AWM is proud to announce we have partnered with Iconic Energy and will be utilizing solar energy that will provide us with 100% of our current and future electricity needs. The decision to move solar was an easy one as it will reduce our carbon footprint and it is truly a renewable energy source! We are also excited about lowering our energy bill and the lower maintenance costs as it will allow us to allocate time, energy, and resources to other endeavors! Below is an up-to-date image of our new solar panel field located right next to our headquarters building in Roscoe, IL.

With the help of Iconic Energy, we have built a six-acre solar farm that includes 5,600 solar panels that will meet our energy needs and be fully self-sustaining. Excess power generated by the solar panels will be sold back to Rock Energy Cooperative.

“Renewable energy is in our DNA,” said Tony Troxell, director of finance at All World and project liaison. “Our company and employees have a real passion to reduce our carbon footprint and be part of sustainable solutions. We are proud to be investing in the local community and look forward to more investments in the future.”

Iconic Energy President Teague Dickey said the project will generate enough solar power to remove the equivalent of 300 to 400 homes from the power grid, in turn shrinking the carbon footprint of the greater northern Illinois area.

As part of the project, Iconic Energy will install an educational component as part of a dedicated area showcasing the benefits of solar energy.

Some of the benefits of solar energy to the environment are:

  • Reduces air pollution
  • Reduces water usage
  • Reduces dependence on nonrenewable energy sources
  • Improves humanity's health in the long-run
  • Help fight climate change

AWM is so excited to join the likes of companies such as Apple, Macy's, IKEA, Target, and Walmart, all who have gone solar. We have always prided ourselves on being an environmentally friendly company, so transitioning over to solar energy is something we are really looking forward to.

Some other environmental initiatives AWM takes are:

  • We reuse, recycle and donate pallets, and pallet wood for community outreach programs
  • We use hand dryers in the restrooms, eliminating paper towel waste
  • We use biodegradable packing peanuts made of cornstarch
  • We use only hybrid and electric cars for our sales fleet vehicles
  • We maintain and protect a 6-acre plot of IL natural prairie grass that will never be cut or engineered
  • We donated the valuable black dirt excavated from over 15 acres during the construction of our new facility to playgrounds around the community
  • Our headquarters has PVC and nickel free floors
